Alter Ego is a visual and text-based documentary project that explores children's free imagination and creative self-understanding at an age before the structure of school and the algorithms of screens begin to shape them. Through staged portraits and conversations with five-year-olds, the project investigates who children believe they are, and who they could be, when given full freedom of choice.
