By creating this work I tried to deconstruct the concept of photography. I asked myself questions to figure out how far I could go to make an image stop being a photograph and become something else.
Is collage part of the art of photography? How many elements are allowed in a collage for it to remain the art of photography? Is it important to take photos for a collage yourself or not? If you add geometric elements to an image, does it cease to be a photograph? What if you add text?
Not all questions are easy to answer. This image is 90% my own photographs. I arranged the elements in the frame the way I would like to arrange them in the photograph. I approached this image the same way I would approach a project photograph or a series of photographs, simply condensing them into one image. So is this still a photograph?
