EL DUELO
El Duelo.
The word carries within it the two – two worlds, two positions, two that were one and are no longer. This work inhabits the suspended time between an ending and a beginning, where one remains. The images are remains: abandoned landscapes, windows toward what has gone away. The subject is not what is seen – it is absence, off-frame, perceived in the interval. El duelo is a crossing: entering and exiting, looking outward and returning inward, staying with the remains and letting them be. WORK IN PROGRES
