Series - FotoSlovo 2026 - Category « Documentary / Reportage »

Between 2024 and 2025 I left small cameras for several months on two islands — Ærø in the Baltic Sea and Elba in the Mediterranean — entrusting them to local residents and inviting them to photograph what made them happy. At times during this research I also photographed in the same way and in the same places. I later collected the cameras, developed the rolls of film and analyzed all the collected material as a single body of work, selecting certain images or details to pair in a series of diptychs.

I do not intend to find answers but to open questions and keep them open.
