[from the cut]

In this series of analog photocollages, the act of the cut is both method and subject. By assembling self-portraits with archival fragments and cinematic stills, I create re-photographed compositions where the incision remains intentionally visible.

Imperfection defines the frame. Visible seams and shadows from pasted surfaces lend a raw materiality to the image, highlighting the process as a structural element. Here, the cut is the precise point of encounter—a limit where meaning emerges through the friction of disparate materials.

Through methodical repetition and fragmentation, the body appears as an “excess.” The figure is multiplied, displaced, or transformed into a hybrid form, disrupting the notion of a unified self. These second_ skins propose a mode of “being-with” on paradoxical surfaces, open to the constant possibility of transformation.
