Honorable Mention
The series revolves around the boundary between perception and reality. The work brings forth enigmatic figures from a chaotic and dreamlike universe. Perhaps they are the sentinels of a hidden world, a world that we perceive surreptitiously but strive to forget as soon as we receive a hint of its existence.
The body of work belongs to the great family that follows in the footsteps of Daidō Moriyama, Michael Ackerman and Antoine d'Agata.
"Sometimes, something moves in our peripheral vision, a tenuous shift or movement that prompts us to search for an manifest cause, a confirmation that something has indeed happened.
This groping, or quest for a digestible manifestation for our mind, can lead us, for one step too many, through a veil; that of a far too firm certainty as to what is, or what is not.
Perhaps, if we turn our gaze quickly enough, the world will not have been able to recompose itself in time.
If we linger a little in this breach, then it may be that these worlds we know nothing about will open up to us."
