Kaleidoscope - Written on Your Body is a visual diary composed of body fragments and words, where light and shadow create a poetic tension that reflects the complexity of my emotional landscape at the end of a long-term relationship with a woman. I try to show captures the introspective space where, caught between chasms and peaks, I find myself fragile, in a precarious balance that defies all logic. The use of analogue film emphasises the significance of time, memory, and absence. Handwritten thoughts, songs, and poems overlay the images to articulate emotions of separation, the fear of loss, grief, and ultimately, transformation. This work is a sort of silent catharsis, a return to 'us,' a hidden treasury of emotions, both revealed and concealed. It is an expression of what silence cannot contain, a way to shape the contradictions inherent in love and relationships. It is the inevitable flow of time that changes us. Yet, this metamorphosis, this ever-evolving process, is the beating heart of who we are and what we have been. As Jeanette Winterson so poignantly asks, 'Why is the measure of love loss?'.
