Rod Mireau has been an artist and primarily a Sculptor for more than 20 years. Born and raised on the Canadian prairies, he has returned for inspiration, again and again, to memories of wandering among abandoned and forgotten farm equipment and experiences of the land and sky in this distinct landscape.
Recently, with this same landscape as a psychological backdrop, Mireau has begun building and photographing small dioramas. Using HO scale models typically used in model railroading, he builds, explores and documents scenes of half-remembered stories, dreams and memories in an ongoing exploration of a place and a history that is both real and imagined.
