Spectral Pastoral

Spectral Pastoral has grown out of a love of landscape paintings, prints and photography. In particular our emotive conceiving of the land as a representation and reflection of personal and cultural sensibilities.

Shot in woodlands, parks and farmland the series plays on the magical realism of landscape and draws heavily on the imagery of folklore and myth; an iconography of a deep-rooted psychological attachment to the land, attuned to its enchantment, portents and cycles.

In a time of deep uncertainty & mistrust and with a heightened sense of unseen or unknown forces working behind the scenes or beneath the surface, the series rummages and re-builds from an intuitive and imaginative engagement with landscape and myth.
