"Escaramuza" is the term for the Mexican charra (or the mexican version of the cowgirl). This portrait was made while they were waiting before their performance of skills as horse riders. I saw them talking in this same position, and I knew that I had to take the photo like that. I wanted to portrait the faces of these fearless women with their traditional dress, which they have to use while they ride their horses. The tradition of the "charrería" is not as strong as it was in the past, and that's why I consider it is important to record these folkloric traditions that still exist.
